Week of September 7-11

The year is off to a full swing! We are doing many things in the 3rd/4th grade class! The third graders are reading Little House in the Big Woods and the 4th graders are reading Cricket in Times Square. We will be building log cabins and making spice apples for the 3rd graders and the 4th graders will be designing cricket houses Look for these pictures coming soon!!

The 4th graders did some investigative reporting today. They learned how to use a newspaper and studied why it is important to know how to use a newspaper.

The third graders did a lab today using their sense of smell and taste. Ask you child about the lab and all of the fun things that they tasted and smelled today.
The list of they things that they smelled and tasted is:

The third graders also experimented with sugar cubes. They tried to see which part of their tongue was the most powerful. The tip or the back. Their results were that the tip of the tongue was where they could taste the sugar the most!
